Sharif Ahmed

Ahmed Sharif (1921-1999) was a renowned Bengali educationist, philosopher, and scholar of medieval Bengali literature who spent 34 years as a professor at the University of Dhaka. He was widely recognized as an outspoken atheist and radical thinker who used his pen and rationality to write extensively on literature, culture, politics, philosophy, and history. He edited numerous medieval Bengali manuscripts and authored over 100 research publications, earning recognition as the foremost authority on ancient and medieval Bengali literature.
