Shannon Hale
Shannon Hale (née Bryner), born January 26, 1974, in Salt Lake City, Utah, is a New York Times bestselling American author of young adult fantasy, including the Newbery Honor book Princess Academy and the Books of Bayern series starting with The Goose Girl. She earned a BA from the University of Utah and an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Montana, and has also written adult novels like Austenland (adapted into a film), graphic novels, and picture books, often collaborating with her husband Dean Hale. She lives in Utah with her family.[1][2][7]
