Shalini Shankar

Shalini Shankar is a Professor of Anthropology and Asian American Studies at Northwestern University, specializing in sociocultural and linguistic anthropology. Her ethnographic research focuses on South Asian American youth and communities in Silicon Valley, advertising agencies in major U.S. cities, and participants in spelling bee competitions. She is also an author and ethnographer of stories, particularly those exploring the Asian American diaspora.
