Sarov Monastery

Saint Seraphim of Sarov, born Prokhor Isidorovich Moshnin, was a renowned Russian Orthodox monk, mystic, and saint venerated in the Eastern Orthodox Church. He entered the Sarov Monastery at age 19, was tonsured as Seraphim at 27, lived as a hermit in the surrounding forests practicing extreme asceticism, and became famous for his teachings on acquiring the Holy Spirit, miracles, and spiritual guidance to pilgrims.[1][3][5]
