Sarah Weddington
Sarah Weddington was an American lawyer, educator, and advocate best known for arguing the landmark Roe v. Wade case before the U.S. Supreme Court in 1973, which legalized abortion nationwide. She served in the Texas House of Representatives, as the first female General Counsel for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and as an advisor on women's issues to President Jimmy Carter. Weddington taught law at the University of Texas at Austin for decades and authored A Question of Choice detailing her experiences.
