Sara Douglass
Sara Douglass, born Sara Mary Warneke, was an Australian fantasy author known for epic fantasy series like the Axis Trilogy. She grew up in rural South Australia, worked as a nurse, earned a PhD in early modern English history, and later became a Senior Lecturer in Medieval History before turning to full-time writing. She lived in Tasmania and received the Aurealis Award for best fantasy novel before her death in 2011.
