Samuel Blumenfeld ,
Samuel L. Blumenfeld was an American educator, author, and speaker born in New York City, who graduated from City College of New York in 1950, served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and worked as a book editor before focusing on education reform and phonics-based reading instruction.[1][2][3] He authored numerous books criticizing public education systems, such as 'N.E.A.: Trojan Horse in American Education' and 'Alpha-Phonics,' lectured across the U.S. and internationally, and became a Christian later in life.[1][3][6] Blumenfeld died in 2015 at age 89 after championing homeschooling and systematic phonics against ineffective reading methods.[1][2]
