Sam Babbitt

Samuel Fisher Babbitt, known as Sam Babbitt, was a prominent educator and administrator who served as Dean of Men at Vanderbilt University, where he became the university's liaison to the Peace Corps. In the early 1960s, he led Peace Corps recruitment as Chief of the Division of Colleges and Universities during a period of rapid expansion. Later, he became the first president of Kirkland College in 1966 and retired after a long career as a special assistant to the president for Far Eastern affairs.
