Sam Abell
Sam Abell is an American documentary photographer born in 1945 in Sylvania, Ohio, who learned photography from his father. He worked as a contract and staff photographer for National Geographic for 33 years (1970-2001), becoming renowned for his in-depth color photo-essays. He has published multiple collections of his work and maintains an international career as a writer, teacher, and lecturer on photography.
