Salamishah Tillet
Salamishah Tillet is an American scholar, writer, and activist who serves as a Distinguished Professor of Africana Studies and Creative Writing at Rutgers University–Newark and as a contributing critic-at-large for The New York Times. She won the Pulitzer Prize for Criticism in 2022 for her writing on Black stories in art and popular culture, and she is the author of In Search of the Color Purple: The Story of an American Masterpiece.[1][5][6]
