Sabine Rewald

Sabine Rewald is the Jacques and Natasha Gelman Curator Emerita at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, where she served as a curator from 1984 to 2021. She has organized numerous major exhibitions on twentieth-century art, including retrospectives of Max Beckmann, Max Ernst, and Caspar David Friedrich, and authored several collection catalogues. Rewald is widely recognized for her scholarly contributions to modern and contemporary art, particularly German art of the 1920s and twentieth-century modern masters.
