S. R. Ranganathan

S. R. Ranganathan (1892–1972) was an Indian librarian, mathematician, and educator widely regarded as the father of library science in India. He is best known for formulating the Five Laws of Library Science and developing the Colon Classification system, both of which had a lasting impact on librarianship worldwide.
