Ruth Mason

Ruth Mason (1913–1990) was a New Zealand botanist renowned for her pioneering research on the taxonomy and ecology of freshwater plants, having collected over 13,000 specimens during her 35-year career at the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research. She was a tireless and meticulous scientist who developed new techniques for plant preservation and received life membership from the New Zealand Ecological Society.
