Ruth Barton

Ruth Haley Barton is a spiritual director, teacher, retreat leader, and founder of the Transforming Center, a ministry focused on strengthening the souls of pastors and Christian leaders. She holds a Doctor of Divinity from Northern Baptist Theological Seminary (also known as Northern Seminary), with training from the Shalem Institute for Spiritual Formation and Loyola University Chicago, and has served on the pastoral staff of churches including Willow Creek Community Church. Barton is the author of numerous books on spiritual formation, such as Invitation to Solitude and Silence, Sacred Rhythms, and Strengthening the Soul of Your Leadership.
