Russell Shorto
Russell Anthony Shorto is an American author, historian, and journalist, best known for his nonfiction history books about New York and Dutch colonial history, including *The Island at the Center of the World* and *Amsterdam: A History of the World's Most Liberal City*.[1][3] His work has been widely published and translated, and he has also written for major publications such as *The New York Times Magazine*.[5][6]
