Rudolf J. Rummel

Rudolph Joseph Rummel (1932–2014) was an American political scientist, statistician, and professor at Indiana University, Yale University, and the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. He specialized in quantitative research on collective violence, war, and democide, estimating that governments killed around 212 million people in the 20th century, with democracies least likely to commit such acts. Rummel developed the democratic peace theory and authored major works like Understanding Conflict and War (1975) and Power Kills (1997).[1][2]
