Roy Williams

Roy Samuel Williams OBE FRSL (born 1968) is a British playwright who began writing plays in 1990 after working as an actor and graduating from Rose Bruford College with a first-class BA Hons degree in 1995. Raised in Notting Hill as the youngest of four siblings in a single-parent home, he has won awards including the 2000 George Devine Award and 2001 Evening Standard Award for Most Promising Playwright, and was appointed OBE in 2008 and elected FRSL in 2018. His work spans theatre, film (e.g., Fast Girls), and television (e.g., Fallout, Offside).
