Roy Race
Roy Race is the fictional protagonist of the British comic strip 'Roy of the Rovers,' debuting in 1954, where he stars as a striker for the football club Melchester Rovers, achieving numerous titles including nine league championships and scoring 533 goals in 565 games.[1][2] His career involved dramatic events like a terrorist attack in Basran killing teammates, a helicopter crash ending his playing days in 1993, after which he became player-manager, managed his son Rocky, and owned the club.[1][7] He married Penny Laine, had children including Rocky, and remained dedicated to Melchester Rovers throughout his adventurous life.[2][7]
