Roy Kerr

Roy Patrick Kerr is a renowned New Zealand mathematician and physicist who, in 1963, discovered the exact solution to Einstein's field equations of general relativity that describes rotating black holes, known as the Kerr metric. His groundbreaking work provided a major contribution to astrophysics and remains fundamental to the study of black holes and gravitational fields.
