Roy (ed.) Medvedev
Roy Aleksandrovich Medvedev (1925–2026) was a prominent Russian historian, political writer, and Soviet dissident known for his critical work on Stalinism, particularly his book Let History Judge. Born in Tbilisi, Georgia, he was expelled from the Communist Party in the late 1960s but later rejoined in 1989 during Gorbachev's reforms, serving as a member of the Supreme Soviet and advising leaders like Gorbachev and Yeltsin. He died in Moscow at age 100 on February 13, 2026.
