Roy Dotrice
Roy Dotrice OBE (1923–2017) was a British stage, screen, and voice actor renowned for his Tony Award-winning performance in the 2000 Broadway revival of A Moon for the Misbegotten and his record-setting audiobook narration of George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series, voicing 224 characters in A Game of Thrones.[1][2][6] A World War II veteran who escaped German-occupied Guernsey and served as a Royal Air Force gunner before becoming a prisoner of war, he originated the solo play Brief Lives as John Aubrey and portrayed roles like Father in Beauty and the Beast and Leopold Mozart in Amadeus.[1][3][5]
