Rosemary Van Den Berg

Dr. Rosemary van den Berg was a Noongar elder and the first Aboriginal woman in Western Australia to be awarded a PhD, which she received from Curtin University of Technology in 2000.[3][4] She worked as an editor, consultant, public speaker, researcher, teacher, and writer, including authoring the biography of her father, No Options No Choice: The Moore River Experience (1994).[2][4] Throughout her career, she taught essay writing and English to Aboriginal students and was honored by Murdoch University, which named an event space after her.[3][4]
