Rosamunde Pilcher
Rosamunde Pilcher (née Scott) was a British novelist born in Lelant, Cornwall, in 1924, best known for her sweeping romantic novels set in Cornwall and Scotland, including The Shell Seekers, September, and Coming Home. She began her writing career in 1949 publishing romance novels under the pseudonym Jane Fraser for Mills & Boon, later transitioning to her own name with major successes in the 1990s. Pilcher retired after Winter Solstice in 2000, was awarded an OBE in 2002, and passed away in 2019.
