Ronald Carter
Ronald Allan Carter MBE FRSA AcSS (1947–2018) was a British linguist and professor at the University of Nottingham, specializing in applied linguistics, poetics, and language studies. He co-authored influential works such as the Cambridge Grammar of English with Michael McCarthy and was a founding member and chairman of the Poetics and Linguistics Association. Carter received honors including Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (1995), Academy of Social Sciences (2002), and Member of the Order of the British Empire (2009).[2][4]
