Ron Berry
Ronald Anthony Berry (1920–1997) was a Welsh author of novels and short stories, born in Blaencwm in the Rhondda Valleys, where he worked as a miner from age fourteen and remained for most of his life. His books reflect the working-class industrial communities of the valleys with an optimistic vision, focusing less on politics and religion than many contemporaries. Notable works include 'Hunter and Hunted' (1960), 'Flame and Slag' (1968), 'So Long, Hector Bebb' (1970), and his final novel 'This Bygone' (1996), with posthumous publications in 1998.
