Roger Odin

Roger Odin was a French media and film scholar, best known as a founder of the semio-pragmatic approach to cinema and audiovisual media. He was a professor emeritus at Université Sorbonne Nouvelle-Paris 3 and directed the IRCAV for many years, with research focused on documentary film, amateur cinema, and media reception.
