Roger Holmes

Roger Holmes is a magazine editor and author best known as the founding editor of Fine Gardening magazine and for his work at Taunton Press, publishers of Fine Woodworking, where he began as a freelancer in 1979 before becoming a full-time editor in 1982. After studying at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and Yale, he pursued woodworking in southwest England, combining his passions for writing and craftsmanship to enter publishing. He has edited notable titles in the Taylor’s Guide series, including Taylor’s Master Guide to Gardening, Gardening in the South, and Gardening in the Southwest.
