Robert Tallant Laudon

Robert Tallant Laudon was an American musicologist and Professor Emeritus of Musicology and Harpsichord at the University of Minnesota, where he taught for 24 years after earning his B.A. in Music (1947), M.A. (1950), and Ph.D. in Musicology (1969) from the same institution. He authored scholarly works such as 'The Dramatic Symphony: Issues and...' and 'The Era after the Baroque: Music and the Fine Arts 1750-1900,' proposing innovative period labels like the 'Promethean Era.' Laudon, a WWII veteran who served in a logistical role in England, remained active in writing groups into his 80s and passed away at age 95 in Minneapolis.
