Robert Toru Kiyosaki is an American businessman, author, and motivational speaker best known for his Rich Dad Poor Dad series on personal finance, which challenges conventional money beliefs and promotes financial education.[1][5] Born in Hilo, Hawaii, to a Japanese-American family, he served as a helicopter gunship pilot in the Vietnam War after graduating from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, then worked in sales at Xerox before launching businesses including nylon Velcro surfer wallets and Cashflow Technologies.[3][5][7] He founded the Rich Dad Company with his wife Kim to provide books, games, and seminars on wealth-building.[1][5]
