Robert Stanek

Robert Stanek, born William Robert Stanek, is an American author, illustrator, educator, and visual artist known for over 250 books in fantasy, science fiction, children's literature, and technical writing. A U.S. Air Force veteran with 11 years of service including Operations Desert Shield, Desert Storm, and Provide Comfort, he earned the Air Force Distinguished Flying Cross and Air Medal. His works, translated into over 50 languages, include the Ruin Mist fantasy series and influential Microsoft Press guides that popularized plain language writing.[1][2][3][5]
