Robert Sobel
Robert Sobel (1931-1999) was an American historian and the Laurence Stessin Professor of Business History at Hofstra University, where he taught for forty years. He specialized in business history and American capitalism, authoring numerous books on topics including political biographies, US-Middle East relations, the Vietnam War, and alternate history works like For Want of a Nail. Sobel was born in the Bronx, New York City, and wrote extensively on economic and historical subjects.
