Robert K. Ritner

Robert K. Ritner Jr. (May 5, 1953 – July 25, 2021) was an eminent American Egyptologist and beloved professor at the Oriental Institute of the University of Chicago, renowned for his dynamic lectures and scholarly work on ancient Egyptian religion, magic, and the Ptolemaic Period[2][3]. He authored the book 'The Mechanics of Ancient Egyptian Magical Practice' and over 100 publications on Egyptian history, language, and literature[4]. Ritner passed away at age 68 after a long battle with kidney disease and leukemia[3][7].
