Robert F. Bruner
Robert F. Bruner is a distinguished finance professor who taught at the University of Virginia's Darden School of Business for 41 years (1982-2023), serving as Dean from 2005 to 2015, during which he led major program revisions, launched executive MBA programs, improved diversity, raised over $165 million, and elevated rankings to the top 10.[1][3] He earned a B.A. from Yale University and MBA/DBA from Harvard University, authored over 20 books on finance, management, and teaching including *Case Studies in Finance* and *Deals from Hell*, and over 300 teaching cases, earning recognition as a master case study teacher and University Professor.[2][3][5] His research focuses on mergers and acquisitions, financial crises, corporate finance, democracy, capitalism, and presidential leadership.[2][3]
