Robert Burton
Robert Burton (1577–1640) was an English scholar, writer, and Anglican clergyman best known for *The Anatomy of Melancholy*, an influential and encyclopedic study of melancholy and related topics. He wrote under the pen name Democritus Junior and spent much of his life at Oxford University.
