Robert Buchanan
Robert Williams Buchanan (1841–1901) was a Scottish poet, novelist, and dramatist known for his poetry collections like London Poems (1866) and his controversial attacks on the Pre-Raphaelites in 'The Fleshly School of Poetry.' He began as a poet, transitioned to novels such as The Shadow of the Sword (1876) and successful melodramas like Alone in London (1884), and remained prolific until his death from paralysis.[1][5][4]
