Robert B Parker
Robert B. Parker (1932-2010) was an acclaimed American mystery writer, best known for his Spenser series featuring a wise-cracking Boston private detective, which began with 'The Godwulf Manuscript' in 1974 and spanned 40 novels. Born in Springfield, Massachusetts, he earned a Ph.D. from Boston University, taught at Northeastern University, and also created the Jesse Stone and Sunny Randall series, along with westerns like 'Appaloosa,' which was adapted into a film. Parker received the Mystery Writers of America's Grand Master award in 2002 and an Edgar for 'Promised Land.'
