Robert A. Schmidt
Robert H. Schmidt (1950-2018) was an independent scholar renowned for translating ancient Hellenistic astrological texts into modern languages, often providing the first such translations.[1][2] Born on December 22, 1950, he received a scholarship to study mathematical physics at MIT but instead pursued philosophy at St. John’s College in Annapolis under Jacob Klein.[1][2] He settled in Cumberland, Maryland, supported himself through printing and other jobs before sustaining via publications and lectures on astrology.[1][2]
