Robert 1850-1929 Ridgway

Robert Ridgway (1850–1929) was an American ornithologist and taxonomist who served as the first full-time curator of birds at the United States National Museum. He was renowned for his extensive work describing North American bird species and for publishing the eight-volume series 'The Birds of North and Middle America'. Ridgway also made significant contributions to color standardization in natural history and was a member of the National Academy of Sciences.
