Rob Gonsalves (Author, Illustrator)
Rob Gonsalves was a Canadian painter and illustrator renowned for his magic realism style, blending surreal elements with precise architectural details influenced by artists like Magritte and DalĂ.[1][2] Born in Toronto, he studied architecture at Ryerson University, briefly worked in the field, then pursued an acclaimed career creating original paintings, limited edition prints, and children's books such as Imagine a Day, for which he won the 2005 Governor General's Award for Illustration.[1][2][3] He passed away in 2017, leaving a legacy of imaginative works that evoke wonder in viewers of all ages.[1]
