Rita Macneil

Rita MacNeil was a Canadian singer and songwriter from Big Pond, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, known for her powerful voice and songs about resilience and overcoming adversity. She became one of Canada’s most successful country and folk artists, winning multiple Juno and other awards, and was inducted into the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame.
