Rie Aruga

Rie Aruga is a Japanese manga artist and screenwriter who debuted in 2011, winning the GOLD award in the sixth KissIN contest for her short story Tentai Kansoku. She is best known for her josei manga Perfect World, serialized in Kodansha's Kiss magazine from 2014 to 2021, which won the Kodansha Manga Award in the shōjo category in 2019 and was adapted into a live-action film and TV drama. Born in Omachi, Nagano Prefecture, Japan, her works often explore themes including disability.
