Rickey Pittman
Rickey E. Pittman, known as the Bard of the South, is a storyteller, author, folksinger, musician, historian, and college English instructor originally from Dallas.[1][2] He won the Grand Prize in the 1998 Ernest Hemingway Short Story Competition and has published around 15-18 books, focusing on Southern history, nonfiction, historical fiction, and stories of Scots, Irish, and Welsh heritage.[1][3][6] Pittman presents his stories, music, and historical programs across the South and lives in Bastrop, Louisiana, where he teaches English.[1][7]
