Richard O. Duda
Richard O. Duda is Professor Emeritus of Electrical Engineering at San Jose State University, renowned for his pioneering work in sound localization and pattern recognition. He co-authored the influential textbook 'Pattern Classification and Scene Analysis' with Peter E. Hart in 1973, which remained a key reference for over 25 years until its second edition in 2000. An IEEE Fellow and AAAI Fellow, he earned his B.S. and M.S. from UCLA in 1958 and 1959, and his Ph.D. from MIT in 1962.
