Richard Michelson
Richard Michelson is a poet, children's book author, art dealer, and gallery owner based in Northampton, Massachusetts, where he served two terms as Poet Laureate and hosts Northampton Poetry Radio.[1][2][6] Born in East New York, Brooklyn, he has authored numerous poetry collections and over two dozen children's books, earning awards including a National Jewish Book Award, two Sydney Taylor Gold Medals, and the 2019 Samuel Minot Jones Award for Literary Achievement.[1][2][3] He opened his first art gallery in 1976 and continues to run R. Michelson Galleries in a historic building in Northampton.[1]
