Richard McSherry
Richard McSherry (1817–1885) was an American physician born in Martinsburg, Virginia, who received his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1841. He served as an assistant surgeon in the U.S. Navy from 1843 to 1856, then practiced medicine in Baltimore and held several academic and professional leadership positions, including founding and serving as first president of the Baltimore Academy of Medicine. He contributed to medical journals and authored works on health and Mexican culture.
