Richard Mabey
Richard Mabey is a British writer, broadcaster, naturalist, and botanist, widely regarded as the father of modern nature writing in the UK, focusing on the relations between nature and culture.[3][8] Born and raised in the Chiltern Hills, he worked as a lecturer and editor before becoming a full-time author in 1974, with acclaimed books like Food for Free (1972), Flora Britannica (1996), and Gilbert White (1986, Whitbread Biography Award).[1][2] He now lives in Norfolk, East Anglia, and remains active in conservation.[2][8]
