Richard Langhorne
Richard Langhorne (c. 1624 – 14 July 1679) was an English barrister and Catholic layman who served as legal adviser to the Jesuits. He was falsely accused of treason during the fabricated Popish Plot amid anti-Catholic hysteria, imprisoned, tried on perjured testimony, and executed by hanging, drawing, and quartering at Tyburn. Beatified by Pope Pius XI in 1929, he is remembered as one of the English Martyrs.[1][2][4]
