Richard Klein

Richard G. Klein is a Stanford paleoanthropologist known for his research on South African Stone Age sites and for pioneering the analysis of animal bones to better understand early human behavior. His work has helped illuminate the transition from Middle Stone Age hunter-gatherers to the more sophisticated populations of the Later Stone Age and the broader behavioral changes associated with modern humans’ expansion out of Africa.
