Richard Gardner

Richard Alan Gardner (1931–2003) was an American child psychiatrist, psychoanalyst, and author best known for his work on child custody evaluations and for introducing the controversial concept of parental alienation syndrome. He taught at Columbia University and wrote extensively on divorce, children, and family relationships.
