Richard Bryant-Jefferies

Richard Jefferies (1848–1887), also known as John Richard Jefferies, was an English naturalist, novelist, and essayist renowned for his vivid depictions of country life and the natural world. Born near Swindon, Wiltshire, he wrote notable works including the children's classic Bevis and the science fiction novel After London, while also producing the autobiographical The Story of My Heart. He died at age 38 in Goring-by-Sea, Sussex, after a long struggle with tuberculosis.
